Watercolor Wash Background Tutorial with Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Garden


I have a fun video tutorial today on how to make a watercolor wash background card.  This card features some sneak peak goodies from Stampin' Up!'s upcoming January - June 2021 mini catalog.

Ornamental Tidings Card

Look at this adorable holiday card I made during Sharon' Armstrong's #mysterystampingmonday.




If you would like to make this card and matching envelope, below are the steps. 

Measurements:
Card Base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 1 1/4" x 4 1/4" Real Red Cardstock
1" x 5 1/4" Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper (green check)
1/4" x 5 1/4" Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper (red check)
2 3/4" x 5 1/4" Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper (red check)
2 3/4" x 5 1/4" Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper (red stripe)
4" x 5" scrap Very Vanilla cardstock scrap for stamping and die cutting
2 1/2" x 6" Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper ( red check) for die cutting/envelope

Stamp ornaments on Very Vanilla cardstock using Real Red ink and die cut using the ornament dies.  

Stamp Sentiment of choice in Garden Green ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and die cut using smallest envelope liner die. 

Flip upside down and cut the bottom edge using the smallest envelope liner die. 

Outline the sentiment piece using Real Red blends marker.


Use  Liquid Glue to adhere all paper pieces.  

Glue ornaments onto the sentiment panel and glue that onto the front 1" DSP panel.  

Tie a double bow with the Real Red Ribbon and adhere to largest ornament using a glue dot.  

Pop the largest envelope up underneath the sentiment panel using dimensionals.  

Add sequins using glue dots.

Die cut matching Designer Series Paper using the largest envelope liner die and then glue onto an envelope.

Here is an easy holiday card idea using the Tree Angle stamp set and Triangle dies. 

I used my homemade Pearl gloss paints to make a background and then added my stamped patterned triangle on top as trees with Adhesive Backed Snowflake accents.
