Simple Butterfly Card for shoe box swap

Ok I changed my mind and came up with an even better card for my upline's shoe box swap next weekend. It was inspired by a Mojo Monday sketch and a modified CASE of card designed by Lynn - LW Designs . This card is my first time using the Simple Friendship stamp set and trying the Kissing Technique. I really like how it came out.

Recipe:
Simple Friendship Stamp Set
So Swirly Stampin’ Around Wheel and Handle
Bella Toile Background Stamp
Sizzix Embosslits Simple Flower
Bigshot
Close to Cocoa Cardstock and Classic Ink
Baja Breeze Cardstock and Classic Ink

Whisper White Craft Ink
Heat Tool if desired
Snail Adhesive, Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Saffron Friend

I was toying around trying to come up with a shoe box swap project. This may end up being it.

Great Friend!

I finally mounted this stamp set today and decided to play. It is much more sparkly in person, I just can't seem to get glitter to show up in my photos.

I decided to apply Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds just to the negative space of the butterflies. (Because every card needs a little bling!)

I pierced the edges of the Orchid Opulence panel and did the faux stitching with a white gel pen to mimic the double stitching on the ribbon.

The Baja Breeze Patterned Paper panel is popped up on dimensionals.

Butterflies were cut out and bent a bit to make them look more 3 dimensional then popped up on 4 dimensionals.

The sentiment was cut out and popped up on dimensionals as well. I used markers to highlight just the word "friend" in Orchid Opulence then colored the remaining words with a Night of Navy marker.

The Certainly Celery base card has the flower stem stamped lightly all over in Cotton White Stazon.

Recipe: Great Friend stamp set, Certainly Celery, Orchid Opulence, Basic Grey and Whisper White Cardstock, White StazOn, Baja Breeze, Basic Black, and Orchid Opulence Ink, Orchid Opulence and Night Of Navy Stampin' Write marker, Baja Breeze DSP, Dimensionals, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Baja Breeze Double Stitched Grosgrain ribbon, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, White Unibal Signo Gel Pen

Egg-ceptional!

Here is a quick Easter card I made this morning before work. Only took 5 minutes since I prestamped and cut out a ton of little easter eggs using the pick a petal stamp set. Here I just cut fringe into a 2" X 5 1/2" strip of Certainly Celery Cardstock to look like grass and mounted on Bashful Blue Cardstock using dimensionals. I used the Eyelet Border Punch to punch a 1" X 5 1/2" strip of Whisper White cardstock to look almost like clouds. Then I glued down the easter eggs underneath the grass fringe. Finally I stamped the sentiment "Egg-ceptional" from the Wagon Full of Fun Stamp Set in the center. Viola! Quick easy Easter Card.

Cards I received....

My fingers are still killing me so I haven't made anything new...although I did finally receive my circle cutter and was playing around with that until I cut myself because my taped up sprained fingers got in the way when I was trying to remove the safety blade casing. So now I have 3 bandaged fingers instead of two. I figured under the circumstances I would feature some cards that I received rather than ones I am not able to make with my bum fingers....

I received two cards in the mail today from my upline's upline Kate Deignan. One is a sample and one is my first birthday card to arrive. My birthday is St. Patrick's Day so these are definately both appropriate for me, especially the Shamrock card made from the SAB set Polka Dot Punches. Kate also used the so saffron grosgrain ribbon from the SAB ribbon bundle for my birthday card. These items are so versatile and you can get them free with a $50 purchase until March 31st.

Thanks for the great cards Kate!

So sorry, I have not posted in a while. I tripped over my own two feet and sprained my fingers. My two end fingers on my right hand are taped and immobilized.
