DeWyze Choice....

Here is a quick graduation card...it is in honor of our new American Idol..... Lee DeWyze! He graduated from working in a paint store in IL to being our American Idol... and he was so humble about it...I think he was on the verge of crying when he won! He seemed genuinely shocked that he won.... I personally voted for him 3 times because I wanted to see him win...and I got my votes worth!

WOYWW and Chit Chat

I am bad and have not made anything for 5 days. I know I know! Bad! But... I figured I would participate in What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and show you the new Tim Holtz Texture Fades.... these are the Damask and Regal Flourish Texture Fades.... I used them on Coredinations cardstock and they give a very deeply embossed image. Look at how clearly the patterns stand out and I haven't even sanded them yet.

Now on to the chat...American Idol...what can I say?
Lee and Crystal were both really good...Crystal was actually excellent...but I still don't like her that much. I remember thinking wow, that chick can sing...but I still don't particularly care for what she sings...this thing could go either way...

What the heck was with the singles...I was so shocked that they didn't sing the same song... I was actually disappointed. And what the heck is with Cara this year? Why does she sound so pretentious every time she gives a comment. When did she become the be all end all of the music industry. I guess she is, what with all the number one hits she writes and produces...but still...

Did you watch Glee? I love that darn show. When that beanie baby fell off of Rachel's outfit and Curt said..."And... we have a jumper!" I actually spit out my soda. That darn show is just hilarious. I need to go back and watch all the original episodes that I never got to see.

Copic Color Combo suggestions for Cloetzu

Here are some Color combination suggestions for Cloetzu on Splitcoast.
It is so much easier to order colors online if you can see what they look like together first. If anyone would like any other suggestions please let me know and I will post some more combos on my blog. I was lucky enough to pick up a few more markers at Expo on Friday...along with a whole bunch of other goodies. I will be posting up some projects with them shorly.

Happy Friday on a Thursday!

I know it is Thursday...but it feels like my Friday as I have the day off tomorrow so that I can go to Scrapbook Expo in Somerset NJ! YEA!!!! A whole expo center full of vendors that sell all sorts of great crafty things. I am going to go into shopaholic overdose. I plan to get there early and wear comfy shoes...lol! I am going to do every make and take they've got to make up for the last couple of years that I got there late and it was so crowded that there was little left to make or buy. So since today is my Friday...and I probably will not get to post tomorrow...here is a card for you. I made this for my best friend's niece Dorothy for her birthday coming up in two weeks... she will be 6. I thought this cutie looked just like her with the curls...so cute!

Oh well they were too cute to resist. Their design team made the most beautiful samples with these digis... Check them out over on the PCS blog if you would like.

Gypsy Mojo and Glee and American Idol chit chat

When I saw this week's Mojo Monday sketch, I just knew I had to play along. I took a few liberties and flipped the sketch sideways to suit my image. Overall, I really like how the card turned out.

Chit Chat-
Did anyone else see Glee last night? Wow- Lea Michele is like Idina Menzel's clone. Great casting, their duet was amazing. I even liked Matthew and Neil's Dream On rendition and what's his name- Artie doing the Safety Dance. What great productions! I am definitely a Gleek! Next week Lady Gaga...should be really funny with all the costumes.
Idol was kind of boring. I think Lee was really great last night. He really brought something special to his second song. I think Casey is going home tonight for sure.

Robomommy

Pfew! That was one long weekend....man was I tired by the end...I slept for 12 hours straight on Sunday. Between wedding dress shopping, 60th birthday parties, and old friends visiting, I was beat. I did manage to get some quick coloring done.

Here is a card I made for my best friend Gina. (aka my baby niece Ava's mother). Now this started out as a congratulations card to celebrate her graduation...she just got her masters! But since my Gina friend now has a five month old and a 6 and 7 year old niece and nephew that live with her...it became a WOW - you are awesome for all that you do card. When I saw this Robot Mother digi by MyScrapChick I thought....yup- that is Gina... Robomommy!

You've Got Mail

Happy Friday! I just had oral surgery...ugh... I look like someone punched me in the face. But it is a great excuse to stay home and make something. I had to use this Elisabeth Bell image from SCACD...it reminded me of me drinking soda and playing on my netbook in my pj's...which happens everyday!!!
I did get to score some cute dollar bin finds yesterday at Michael's...Poolside Paperie Buttons and Metal Butterflies. So I used them here on my card.

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend.

A Bo Kinda Birthday!

I made a card, I made a card! Yea! I was so lazy this weekend and hadn't made anything. I had started this card last week...but it looked unfinished to me. Finally I decided to do the little photocorner thingies and viola! A finished card. And I put a strip of patterned paper on the envelope to match, too!

This card is for my Dad...it is his 60th Bday on Thursday. I tried to make it as manly as possible.... and yes I used those free American Crafts Metropolitan papers again...I went by Michael's and snagged another bunch of them for free from the clearance section on Friday. This is the last card for a while with these colors, I promise I will make something totally different!!! I will, I swear!

NSR- Non stamping related...Wedding chat...

My Post Today is Non-stamping related but just as fun...today is all things Wedding!!! I have spent the entire weekend reading bridal magazines and surfing the web for ideas. I have 4 weddings coming up, none of them mine of course as I am always a bridesmaid...never a bride. ;0)

I have two showers coming up in the next 2 months, and two destination weddings as well as one wedding planned for next year. I am going gown shopping Saturday with a bunch of my besties for Marle's dress. I decided I should do some research and pick out at least a few suggestions so I will not be that bridesmaid that just wrinkles her nose at all the options and doesn't have anything constructive to contribute to the process.

Here is my top pick for a bridesmaid gown...Marle is thinking about purple....so when I saw this I thought it would look cute on everyone...

My Wonderful Mother

One more Mother's Day card using my free American Crafts paper that I scored from the clearance section at Michael's. The first time I saw this frame digi from Bird's Cards I envisioned popping up the flowers , so I finally did it here. Lots of cutting but I think the effect is worth it.

This is the actual card I gave to my Mother. I hope she likes it. I got her one of those crazy Topsy Turvy Tomato Planters because she has her own greenhouse on her porch. I figured we could try it out and see if it will grow indoors. I also altered a composition notebook for her.... she opened that early and loved it. She is taking a class all this weekend so we have to postpone our Mother's day celebration till next week. I am taking her to see Iron Man 2...I know, it is so... not girly, but we love those types of superhero movies. My mom is my superhero...I nicknamed her Super Curl! She ran out into the street one night to put out the trash in her curlers and bathrobe and her bathrobe was flapping in the breeze like a cape ... the name just sort of stuck!
