How to Select Copic Marker colors... Continued

I wanted to share this great picture from last weekend. This is my favorite baby Ava and she is checking out the card I made for her Mom as a congratulations for getting a promotion. Ava is so smart and so amazing. She actually got up on the chair, picked up the envelope, took the card out, admired it and then put it back in the envelope... she is only a year and a half old. She is a genius... and has excellent taste..lol!

What is everyone up to this weekend? My crafty goals for this weekend are:
1) Figure out how to thread a bobbin so I can use my Sew Mini again
2) Try airbrushing clouds with my Copics
3) Make ribbon flowers out of Glubers
4) Read my Shadows & Shading book by Marianne Walker (Yes i finally got it...that is a whole other story for another time)

I would love to hear what everyone else is working on!

Continuing on the discussion of How To Select Which Copic Marker Colors To Buy, I thought I would suggest another approach.

Some people are company loyalists, they have their favorites and they stick to it. Do you have a giant stash full of cardstock from a particular company like Stampin' Up, Paper Trey Ink, or Close to My Heart? Well if you do, you may want to consider picking your Copic Marker colors to match your existing paper and ink supply.
(Keep in mind you should still select markers colors in groups of 3 or 4 blending colors within a color family so that you get the best effects from your Copics.)

Below is a link to a really great chart by stamphappy1650 on Splitcoast Stampers with Stampin' Up! Matches:

Click the link for the post where I list the PTI color matches. (Where it says Shores...it should say Hawaiian Shores and Smokey Shadow I didn't have T4 and T6 so I used T3 and T7)

Another question I have seen posed is- "What if I only want to buy Copic Ciao markers, what colors do I select?"

There is a great Australian store called Lime Tart that had a Copic Club and in the club they did Ciao Markers. They offered the following club packs:

As always, I hope you find this info helpful.

New Ava pic and American Idol Chit Chat

No creative post today, still exhausted and not finished with my coloring. I got side tracked last night working on replacing the pages for my copic mini journal. I spilled milk on my journal (YUCK!) and while it doesn't smell bad exactly, it does seem stained on the edges. So new and improved pages are on the way. I spent forever last night typing up the colors instead of handwriting them. I figured if I am going to redo it, I may as well do it better (typed, neat and combos in color family order).

Here is my baby pic for today. My favorite baby, Ava is five and a half weeks old. I nick named her Pink Diddy b/c I think she looks so cool in this picture.

And onto my American Idol review....

The girls....oh girls what is the matter with you? The girls continue to underwhelm me this year. Poor Paige was terrible. My Katie who I want to like just wasn't very dynamic last night. Shiobhan was interesting....I still love hearing that big voice coming out of that tiny woman. Didi was okay, I still think her voice is pretty. Overall the girls just don't hold my interest very well. I must have walked in and out of the room about 10 times to do other things...I just don't find anyone to have any real spark or charisma. ( I didn't even bother to watch Kaitlyn or Lily or the redheaded pixie...what is her name again. You see- forgettable.... The songs they are choosing are so dark and dreary. They really need to pick more interesting songs...

Crystal still is the best in the girl category... I am not sure I would buy anything she puts out or go to one of her shows...but as far as the girls go...she is the one to beat as Simon puts it. She has a great voice, she is a good performer, and she is consistent. Can't wait to see what the boys do tonight.

PS- I will not even comment on Ellen sniffing Simon and sitting in his lap...ok I guess I just did comment! lol! She is too funny.

This weekend has been a series of driving adventures. I started out Saturday at the repair shop. Next I drove down to South Jersey to see my favorite baby. Today I went on a hunt for magnetic sheeting to stick my nestabilities on. I wanted both sides to be magnetic but couldn't find anything that fit the bill. Went to M's, went to Home Depot, went to Target. I got too tired to go anywhere else so I stopped at CVS and broke down and picked up some magnets. So now you can see pictured above, I hung my dies on the magnets. Here are some new pictures of my best friend's baby, Ava. She is five weeks old now.

Baby Time

Here is a Baby Boy scrapbook page I made during the snow storm Saturday. I used my Sew Mini to do some zig zag stitching to jazz up the page a bit and added a cute little giraffe stamp from The Angel Company. (Copics used: Y32, Y35, Y38, B41, B0000, B02)

Close ups:

As promised, here are pics of my new baby "neice" Ava- only 10 days old...
