Spring Bling

Well with the monsoon blowing outside the window, I am pretty sure Spring is here. March is coming in like a lion, let's hope it goes out like a lamb. Here is my card for the 100th Flutterby Wednesday Challenge.

I had some fun using new toys this weekend. I broke out my new Basic Grey Kioshi paper and Nestabilities dies. I also used my Copic ABS system and a copic V15 marker to airbrush my flowers to match my card. I got an air compressor as an early birthday gift, so I felt like I could finally use my D60 air can without being conservative. No more buying aircans for me!

Recipe: Summer Fairy digi from the Greeting Farm, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, Prismacolor Pencils, OMS, Kioshi designer paper by Basic Grey, SU! Violet and Bermuda Bay cardstock, Nestabilities Labels Twelve, SU! Scallop Trim Border Punch, Spica clear Glitter Pen, Michael's Flower Rhinestones, Prima Flower, SU! Pretties flower

Flutter By Wednesday on Monday

I absolutely love all things Tinkerbell so I just had to do last weeks Flutter By Wednesday Challenge...a little late but better than never. The challenge was to do a card inspired by this picture:

Here is the first draft of my card. I thought I was done, but it just seemed unbalanced to me so I added the flowers to the lower right hand side.

Here is a close up of Tinkerbell. I decided to do something different so I used Prismacolor pencils and OMS with my Copics to add the yellow halo around the image. I definitely need to practice using odorless mineral spirits and the blending stump with the pencils. I like using the pencils with the Copics because if I tried to do the same halo effect with markers I run the risk of the yellow bleeding into my image.

Recipe: Tinkerbell image from tinkerbellcoloring pages, Lilac Avenue designer paper by Kaisercraft, May Arts two tone ribbon, Bow Easy, stardust stickles, Kaisercraft rhinestones, Petaloo Dazzlers, SU! Lavender Lace and PTI Stampers Select White Cardstock, Prismacolor pencils in Lemon and Canary Yellow, Gamsol, Copics:

Flutter by Wednesday Pixie Luv style

I love all things butterfly, angel, or fairy!!! So here is another Flutter by Wednesday Challenge card. The challenge was to use hearts with out butterfly, fairy or angel. This was the perfect excuse for me to use some sheets from my new Kaisercraft Made with Love paper pad. I threw in some stitching all over the place to hold the two papers together and just because I think using my Sew Mini is sew fun! lol!

Flutterby Valentine

I'm back again today with another card. I had so much fun participating in the last Flutter By Wednesday challenge, that I just had to do it again. This weeks challenge # 93 was to use embossing along with your butterfly, fairy, or angel image. I used Challenge # 22 Die Cuts R Us Sketch # 1 as an inspiration for my card. I thought this patterned paper went perfectly with the sketch. Instead of using an oval like the sketch, I decided to crack open my Lables # 1 Nestabilities and use them for their very first maiden voyage to die cut out the butterfly and butterfly border.

I wanted a magenta butterfly but didn't have that color pigment ink so I inked my stamp with Champagne Shimmer Versamark and then tapped it on SU! Rich Razzleberry ink. Next I used the pouncing technique on the inked stamp with a Melon Mambo marker to add some lighter colored areas. I stamped this on Neenah Solar White cardstock and then heat embossed with SU! clear embossing powder. I thought the white was a bit too stark so I sponged on some SU! Pretty in Pink over the butterfly. Here is a close up of the result:

Recipe: SU! Simple Friendship stamp, Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels One, Versamark Champagne Shimmer ink, SU! Rich Razzleberry Ink, SU! Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Markers, SU! Pretty In Pink ink, SU! Clear Embossing Powder, Neenah Solar White Cardstock, Petaloo Dazzlers, Sponge Dauber, Little Yellow Bicycle Sweet Love patterned paper, Heart charm from Stamp and Create, Pink Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Assorted Pink cardstock scraps

Flutter By Wednesday on a Thursday

I was sick yesterday and had a really hard time getting up. I actually got ready and drove to the bus stop but had to turn around and went home and back to bed. I am glad I did go outside because I got to see a gorgeous sunrise. After sleeping for about 6 hours I finally felt well enough to try to make a card. This was inspired by the colors of the sunrise, the Card Positioning Systems Sketch 149 and the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge- anything with a butterfly, angel, or fairy...basically it's gotta have wings. I chose this cutie pie Angel Anya image and threw in a cute butterfly charm that I got from Faith at Mark's Finest Papers.
