This seasonal Cutaway card was so fun to make. I love how the Peaceful Place Suite Collection winter theme is perfect for any winter holiday someone may celebrate.
I decided to make my cutaway card a little different from ones I saw around the internet by adding a middle layer on the back of the front sentiment layer.
Steps to Make this Cutaway card:
I used a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Basic Black Cardstock as my card base.
I scored the card base at 4 1/2" and then cut away a 2 3/4'' x 4 1/4" piece from the front.
I adhered two pieces of 2 1/2" x 4" Basic White Cardstock to the front and back layers of the cut away piece of 2 3/4' x 4 1/4".
I adhered a 3rd piece of 2 1/2" x 4" Basic White Cardstock to the back of the black card front then stamped a sentiment in Memento Black ink on each side of the cutaway layer- at the top of the front and on the center of the back.
I adhered the cutaway panel to the inside front layer of the cardbase.
I used a piece of 4" x 4 1/4" Peaceful Place DSP with the top of the trees snipped out to adhere to the front of the card base.
I layered another 2 pieces of 1"x 4 1/4" Peaceful Place DSP at the bottom and placed some Silver Foil fence pieces die cut using the Cabin Dies across the front.
I added a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Peaceful Place DSP to the inside of my card and stamped the fox stamp from the Peaceful Cabin stamp set in Basic Grey ink.
I added some Subtle Shimmer Sequins to finish off my card.

For Try It Thursday! I decided to make some cards based off of the great samples below that Stampin’ Up! shared using the Quiet Meadow Bundle and I decided to sit down and play.
Here is a video that shows how to make these fun and easy cards.
For my version of the project, I decided to swap out Petal Pink Cardstock for Fresh Freesia. I added an extra butterfly, changed my ink color from Cinnamon Cider to Fresh Freesia and added some rhinestones.
Below is another quick card using the positive die cut images from the first card. I stamped the text on a piece of 4” x 5 1/4” Cinnamon Cider CardStock using Fresh Freesia ink. I die cut a label from Fresh Freesia CardStock and stamp Love sentiment in Cinnamon Cider ink. I used mini glue dots to secure the floral bundle onto the card panel. I tied some bakers twine around the die cut label and layered it on top of the die cut leaves and flower and attached the tag using dimensionals. I used dimensionals to adhere the panel onto a 4 1/4” x 11” Cinnamon Cider Card base that is scored at 5 1/2”.
Here is my version.
You can use these techniques (blends marker background, negative space die cut, and stamping repetitive images like spatter dots or words) to create your backgrounds. Now try it and make the project your own.
Since I had extra scraps and pieces, I made a bonus card:
Don’t be afraid to CAS (Copy and Share) an idea and make it your own by changing colors, embellishments, and element placement. These ideas are shared to spark your creativity. Give this idea a try!

Welcome back to Technique Tuesday! Today I have a tutorial on how to make a tone on tone monochromatic card. This a great card to mass produce for the holidays. It features Stampin' Up! Snowflake Wishes stamp set from the Stampin' Up! August- December Mini Catalog.
I used simple stamping along with some heat embossing to showcase the snowflakes on the card.
