My Copic Journal

I wanted to share some pages of my copic journal. This little 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch book is so helpful for me when I am trying to select colors. It stores my favorite color combos and examples of hair and skin combos.

You can download the pages to make your own from the sidebar on Rachel's blog.

My journal is getting pretty thick, almost too big for the 1 inch binder rings that are holding it.

Easter Blessings and American Idol Chit Chat

I made this card the other night, but am not sure I like the layout. I think I may take it apart and revamp it a bit. Maybe I will shift the elements around or something. I was too distracted watching American Idol the last two nights.

I really was surprised at how the girls performed. They were not that great. I wasn't too impressed with them. No clear favorites yet. They boys were much better. I think my favorites so far are Casey and Lee! I am so predictable. I always end up favoring the male gravelly voiced contestants (i.e.- Chris Daughtry, David Cook...). I really like Ellen as a judge too...she is positive but also offers the contestants constructive critisism from a layman's perspective. Kudos to her!

Night Out Uptown

I made this pretty little card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge: Pearls and Swirls, and then forgot to enter! lol! I was tired ... it happens. I still think it is gorgeous and someone will end up buying it from me. Besides, I got to color up my new Whiff of Joy Uptown Girls stamp- Willow Dressing Up.

Purple is my favorite color :0)

An'udder Birthday?

I was feeling really sleepy last night so I decided to make a very quick card. I used Mojo Monday Sketch # 127 as my roadmap.

Last month, I ordered a bunch of stamps from The Angel Company. One of the sets I picked up is called "An'udder Birthday" and it features these adorable cows. Now anyone who knows me knows that I love cows. I moo at them out the window of my card and I swear when I see them, it means I will have good luck. I even went so far as to choose the artwork that is hung on our wall infront of my desk at work.... out of 100's of painting, I chose the one with cows grazing on the side of the road. Needless to say, when I saw this set, I had to have it. Tell me Buella is not cute...I named her Buella... I don't know why. I finally found a use for my black copic marker....cow spots!

Farm Fresh Friday on a Monday

Here is a card I made for The Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh Friday color challenge. The color scheme was Groovy Guava, Kraft and Chocolate. I really like how these colors look together. I made this into a birthday card for my Grandmother.

Here is a close up of Geisha Anya:

And here are some more pictures of my little sweetheart, my 3 week old baby neice Ava! I got to spend lots of quality time with my best friend Gina and her daughter on Saturday. I love being an " Auntie". I have no siblings, so this is the closest I will really get to having a neice. I got lots of hands on practice with holding her, making bottles, folding baby clothes, and quieting a fussy baby. Poor little nugget had the hicups. I think she has figured out how to get us to come running to her bassinet too. About every three minutes or so she would spit out her pacifier and we had to come over to put it back in her mouth. She has us wrapped around her little newborn fingers! Next time I have to learn to bathe her and change her diaper...(Ava had mercy on me and was nice enough not to soil her diaper while I was there!)

Playing in the Sugarbowl

Happy Friday! Here is my creation for the Sugarbowl Challenge # 29 using the following sketch and including 3 flowers, 2 brads, and 1 button. It is my first time playing in the Sugarbowl because I just got my first Sugar Nellie stamps from Scotland this month. I have always been leery of ordering anything from overseas, but the shipping was very affordable and they came in a week. :0) This is one of my favorite color combos- pale yellow and lavender! They are contrasting colors but I think they look so perfect together.

Here is a close up of miss Peek A Bunny stamp by Sugar Nellie! I thought this was an adorable image, great for Spring and Easter. I just love anything illustrated by Elizabeth Bell! I just got some of the Uptown Girls stamps from Whiff of Joy in the mail too. Can't wait to start coloring them up.

Flutter by Wednesday Pixie Luv style

I love all things butterfly, angel, or fairy!!! So here is another Flutter by Wednesday Challenge card. The challenge was to use hearts with out butterfly, fairy or angel. This was the perfect excuse for me to use some sheets from my new Kaisercraft Made with Love paper pad. I threw in some stitching all over the place to hold the two papers together and just because I think using my Sew Mini is sew fun! lol!

Sugar Sugar and Copic Cubbie!

Had lots of fun last night coloring this Manga Fairy Sugar Nellie stamp and I stitched up a storm with my Janome Sew Mini. I think I finally recovered from the fancy dress party Saturday and taking my Grandfather out for his birthday Sunday. I had to drive to NY twice, I was pooped! Luckily I had off for President's Day.

And here it is....drum roll please.... My New Copic Cubbie Storage Unit.
Here it is empty...
My fabulous father built this for me, master craftsman that he is. Unfortunately my Copic collection has grown (wait that is very fortunate!!!) since I asked him to make it so I had to combine my RV's and V's together a bit. I also had to store my most used Earth tone colors on top of the unit in a plastic storage box from the container store. I actually think that will work well since those are colors I use almost every time I stamp so now I can just grab the whole box and go because I don't actually ever sit at my desk... It is really just for storage and show. The angle is annoying when I want to watch television...which is all the time. I am addicted to TV. Also on top are my Spica Pens, my Various Ink refills, and a MS punch.

And here is the unit after I filled it all up....
Here it is on my desk with all my other most loved tools...
My Dad is a total rock star for saving me $40 bucks on buying a unit. He even dropped it off at my house. He is so getting a good Father's Day gift this year!
