The Copic Inventory Journal Project and a Tim Holtz enabler alert

I am back again with more on my Copic Inventory Journal project.

Before I start on that, here is an enabler alert- *** If you like Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads and want to pick up a few more colors.  Blitsy has them this week for $2.99 each, reinkers for $2.75.  These are the existing colors, not the new spring ones.  For those of you out there like me who are late to the Distress Ink party, this is a great time to pick up a few to play with.  I got myself Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky so I could do sponged cloud backgrounds.  You can join Blitsy using the link on the right side bar.  It is free to join and most products that they run sales on are 40% off.

Back to my project, below is the blank Ditto mini brag book that I picked up from the clearance isle at Michael's for $1.49.
It has 8 plastic sleeves inside for photos.  I colored the front with copies and covered the rest with Making Memories Just Chillin' patterned paper and Washi tape.

Next I colored in the Copic Inventory Pages.  You can find the Copic Inventory pages here on the Copic Munkie blog.  I included an "R" for the refills I have and filled in the circles and squares for which markers I have as ciaos and which are originals.  I have 3 sleeves left over to include my wish list for crafty items and then I can carry this skinny little book in my bag.  This way I can ensure I don't buy any duplicates and I can see at a glance what I might need.

Smash Sunday

I shopped this week for a few crafty items.  After seeing a cute SMASH journal of copic color combos for hair colors here, I decided to make one of my own.  I went over to Michael's to see if I could find the Mini Smash Journal because it looked like it would be the perfect size for my project.  Unfortunately my Michael's didn't have any.  They did have the new extra large SMASH Folios.  I was tempted to get the red one and the new baby one for my BFF Marle who is expecting.  I decided to keep to my budget and not go crazy.  I did pick up some of the calendar washi tape and some Recollections lavender washi tape they had.  I also snagged a cute brag book by Hampton Art ditto.  It was in the clearance section and was only $1.49.   It had a blank cover you could color. Inside are plastic sleeves for photos.

I decided to use this as a portable Copic inventory journal.  I will use the extra pages to hold my wish list when I go to Scrapbook Expo this June.  I find it is very easy to get distracted with all those amazing vendors and end up buying duplicates of something you already have or forgetting to pick up something you need.  I colored the cover with my Copics then put on a piece of patterned paper from the Making Memories Just Chillin paper pad and Glitz Epoxy stickers.  I covered the seam with some washi tape.

I ended up ordering from Oozak to get the Mini Smash Journal.  I also ordered some Goosebumps Shimmer spray and 10 Copic Originals.  Why originals you ask?  I feel like I can't seem to get a crisp enough stroke when coloring hair with my Sketch markers and trying to draw in strands of hair.  I decided to get some colors for hair where I could use the fine nib to do that.  I am so pleased, I ordered on Thursday and got my Copics by Saturday.  Excellent customer service!  Below is the picture of the Mini Smash Journal.  It is very cute and light and comes with a Smash Pen.

I used the Moka Hair Color Chart which is a free download from Taylored Expressions.  I copied the image from the pdf into Word and then typed in the colors under each picture.  I added some Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks scraps and Washi tape to the already decorated SMASH pages to make the background.

Happy Summer

It is very very hot here today. I am beating the heat by making some cards. Here is another great digi image from Spesch Designer Stamps. He is so summery. I can just picture him surfing on Bondi beach. Although I guess technically it is currently winter down under. I was playing around trying to come up with some summery color combos, and here is what I came up with.

I added this cute hot dog in his hand to go with the BBQ theme.Recipe: Cool Dude Digi by Spesch Designer Stamps, Studio G clear stamps VS4911 Series 14, Amy R Summer Sentiments stamp, PTI Cardstock, Neenah Solar White Cardstock, CC Designs Copic Quality Cardstock, Tim Holtz Alterations Scrollwork On the Edge Die, Me and My Big Ideas Soft Spoken DP- Relax stickers, Modge Podge Gloss Lustre, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Diamond Stickles, Copics: pictured above and YR24 E23 E55 E53 E51 R35 R22 B45 C5 C7 C9

TGIF and Copic Skin and Hair tones

Thank God it is finally friday. The work week is over and I have a full weekend of relaxation to look forward to. I was wondering if I would make it through the week...but I did and now I am spending some well deserved me time playing with my copics. I have a ton of videos to watch from the Color Me Creative Classroom...I am way behind and I enrolled in a second class which I haven't even started. So to kick off my weekend I decided to play around a little with hair and skin tone combos. I was inspired by the great post over on the Color Me Copic blog with the gals' favorite skin tone combos.

*colored on regular copy paper as my good quality cardstock wouldn't go through the laser jet printer at work (boo!)

Copic Journal- Tricked Out

I have finally made a cover for my copic journal. I still refuse to bind it though. I keep adding pages and revising pages, and taking pages out to photograph them, so I think this will stay on binder rings forever.

I threw in some pages for my Prismacolor pencils since I have been trying to use them with my copics -Linda Heavens style. Love her work!

Here are some pages I have added recently...this is why my journal is so thick.... I like having an example page for everything under the sun!

My Copic Journal

I wanted to share some pages of my copic journal. This little 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch book is so helpful for me when I am trying to select colors. It stores my favorite color combos and examples of hair and skin combos.

You can download the pages to make your own from the sidebar on Rachel's blog.

My journal is getting pretty thick, almost too big for the 1 inch binder rings that are holding it.
