More coloring with Copics:

I just love these cuties from The Greeting Farm for coloring with copics. For a beginner like me it is nice to have a bold openline image that is not too intricate. I tried to really work on getting the highlights to show in the hair. I really like how this turned out.

REMINDER- Mystery Blog Candy for TGIFSC!

Don't forget- tomorrow at noon EST is the deadline for this week's TGIF sketch challenge. Please post your link in Mr. Linky to your entry to be eligible to win. The prize will be a brand new package of 12 X 12 Designer Paper. A new sketch challenge will be posted tomorrow.

My Copic collection has grown....

Copics! Copics! Copics!
I love my new Copics so much that I decided to put them in a couture carry case and take them around town with me. It is an Oscar De La Renta makeup bag I got for my Birthday. ;0) It had 3 compartments so I can stash all my markers and scissors and adhesive and make cards while I am on my lunch break or at the doctors office or where ever I end up.

I am also diligently working on my swatch book. I got a swatch template file and chart with all the RGB approximations for the copic colors and can't wait to use Kuler to generate color combinations for all my different copic colors. I highly recommend getting the file. You can download the swatchbook template for free and purchase the COPIC Digichart at Sally McDonald's site for $2.95. Here is the swatch template I am using. I made a generic version out of Sally's so that I could print them in bulk onto Georgia Pacific Cardstock and write in the color names as I go. Thank god for Walmart and affordable paper that I can experiment with. I love some of the other papers out there like Gina K or Copic Papercrafting paper but at their price I don't feel good about scribbling on it.

Special thanks to Ellen and mystery blog candy reminder!

Reminder: to win this weeks mystery blog candy make sure to play along with Friday's sketch challenge and link to your card using Mr. Linky. Blog candy winner will be announced this Friday.

I have been having the hardest time finishing this wedding guest book I am working on. The wedding is next weekend and I needed to get this done today but I was not sure how to decorate and arrange the inside. Well, I was surfing around looking for inspiration and I ended up on Ellen's site and saw a scrapbook layout and though, hey I have that Big Shot die... and then a whole concept came to me for my project. You can see Ellen's version here. Thanks for this inspiration!

Here is what I came up with:

I tied two different ribbons around the cover of the scrapbook and adhered a Jolee's Happily Ever After Sticker to the front. I also used the letters from K & Co and adhered the word Guest to the front of the book as well (forgot to take a pic of that). On the inside cover I used the So Swirly Big Shot strip die and gold paper for an accent.

For the inside pages, I used all SU! supplies and stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and Bridesmaid specialty cardstock using Sahara Sand Ink and stamps from the Wedding Sweet stamp set. Then I adhered very vanilla cardstock I ran through my printer and matted it on Sahara Sand and Soft Suede Cardstock.

Here I used some scrapbooking paper from my stash and decorated the borders with Martha Stewart border stickers and matted squares stamped with a stamp from the Wedding Sweet stamp set.

Finally I added some scrapbook pages in the back that the bride and groom can add their photos to using DCWV and Michael's Black tie supplies and some Canson specialty metallic paper.

Flutter Decor Elements

Here is my new love. My new netbook. I decided to give him some personality. My room mate and I were joking around and named him Wally when we needed to set it up. Wally is definitely a metrosexual kind of netbook. He is purple after all. I used the So Saffron Flutter Decor elements to really personalize him. I just love how the So Saffron contrasts with the purple. I like how easily you can remove the decor elements too... I got a little too happy writing all over them so I decided to take some off and even though they are on there securely, they just peeled right off with very little effort and no mess left behind. You really can use them on any non-porous surface.
