Happy Father's Day Dad!!! Page Corner Bookmark for my Dad

Here is a Page Corner Bookmark that I made for my Dad.
This is how the page corner bookmark looks when you mark your page in your book.

I used Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP because it is cardstock weight.
I stamped and cut out circles from the Circle Circus stamp set and adhered them on the front and back of the bookmark in a diagonal design. Next I colored a chipboard "H" for (Harry, my Dad) with a soft suede stampin' write marker and adhered that over top of the center circle. Next I added a very vanilla grommet to the top left corner taking care to only stick the points through the top layer of the bookmark. Finally I took a 10" piece of kraft taffeta ribbon and tied that onto the grommet. I fixed a metal hinge embellishment from my hodgepodge hardware kit onto the end with a brad and secured it to the back of the ribbon with crystal effects. This will keep the end of the ribbon from fraying overtime.
Viola! A cute handmade gift for my Dad!
Tutorial can be seen below in post dated June 15th.

Interlocking Medallion Card, Last Chance Parisian Breeze

I love this litte 4"x4" card. It is so cute. I was too sleepy last night to add a sentiment, but it could be for anything, birthday, thank you, thinking of you. Cutest little gate fold. I am going to try the butterfly version tonight. I will be so sorry to see the Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP go at the end of the month. It is by far my favorite DSP that I have ever had. So versatile because it is cardstock weight. Get some before it is gone June 30th!

The Interlocking Medallion Gate Fold Tutorial can be found here on Qbee's Quest blog.

Father's Day Shirt Cards

Oragami isn't exactly my forte but I decided to try the art of paper folding to make these shirt cards for Father's Day. I didn't have the directions so I tried to do it from memory which didn't come out quite well. But, I have now gotten the directions and have made some more shirts. I will post those later this evening.

Page Corner Bookmark Tutorial- Happy Father's Day Dad!

Here is a Page Corner Bookmark that I made for my Dad.
This is how the page corner bookmark looks when you mark your page in your book.
This is a cute and simple project you can make in under 5 minutes.
All you need is a piece of cardstock 5" square, some adhesive and some embellishments.
I used Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP because it is cardstock weight.
1. Fold your 5" square in half once horizontally and once vertically to divide into fourths.
2. Cut away one fourth of the paper.
3. Fold the two remaining "arms" down and back to form a pocket and adhere the two bottom pieces to one another being careful to leave the pocket open on the left and bottom side.
4. Decorate your bookmark as desired.

Just for You Dad Tri-fold Shutter Card

Here is another Tri-fold Shutter card I made last night. Since I sold the other two that I made, I felt I needed to make one to give to my daddy. I am going to cook for him with the food I bought from the Tastefully Simple tasting party this weekend. Since it is so "simple" he may not end up with food poisoning. lol!

I am the best baker and side dish maker in the world but when it comes to meat/chicken/ or fish I am a real disaster. I usually do alright on the grill so I will be firing that up on Father's Day, weather permitting.

The base of the card is a 5-1/2" X 12" sheet of dark blue from my Core'dinations RoyG Biv pack. I only bought it because the name was RoyGBiv...which just seems to make me chuckly everytime I hear it. The rest of the paper is all SU. Parisian Breeze, Urban Garden, Textured Kiwi Kiss (have to use those up since they are retiring June 30th), Sahara Sand and Whisper White. I used the Oval All, And Many Mower, and All Holidays stamp sets. Timber Brown Stazon ink. White and Vanilla Jumbo Grommets, Photo Corners Punch and Dimensionals.

Forest Friend Prayers

I was not going to post again today, but I just had to because this is so stinkin' cute!

Peek-a-boo Sleeve....
Cased the picket fence idea from krischir on Splitcoast. Cased the open ended card sleeve from Piperlime.com. They send you a cute thank you card in a sleeve like this. I changed the size to fit a normal A2 card.

The Thoughts and Prayers stamp set was my favorite one from the last catalog that I just had to have and I just mounted and used it for the first time tonight. I have so much unmounted rubber it is ridiculous. Darn Wall Street job interfering with my stamp time. J/K!!!! Job = more stamps!
Recipe: Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set, Forest Friends, Modern Label Punch from the new catalog, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive Stampin Write Markers, Sahara Sand and Bashful Blue ink, Whisper White, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, and Kiwi Kiss Textured Cardstock. 1" circle punch, sponge, dimensionals

Warning...Under Construction...

This week has been a bit rough. I have been having bad migraines all week and just looking at my blog was giving me a headache. The background was really bothering my eyes so I decided to simplify the template and colors a bit. Once I did that my header didn't match so I have made a temporary one from one of my sneak peak in color cards. Beware...I will probably change things around again soon, but if you like this and think it works, please drop me a comment. Thanks for looking.

Tri-fold Shutter Cards for Dad...

I absolutely love the Tri-Shutter fold card that was posted on Splitcoast by sheltyx1 in a challenge. This uses a 5-1/2 X 12 " piece of cardstock scored at 2", 4", 8" and 10".

Cuts are made horizontally 1-1/2" from the top and bottom edges from the 2" score line to the 10" score line. The top and bottom rows fold peak, valley, peak, valley. The middle row is folded valley, peak, valley, peak. These sold on Sunday at the tasting party like hotcakes. Now I need to make some more.

Amethystcat made a nice rough sketch on her blog that shows how to cut the DSP panels out of 1 8X8" sheet of paper.

Looks something like this (picture not to scale):

Stamp Sets used are: And Many Mower, All Holidays, Cheers to You, Circle Circus, Oval All

I can't for the life of me remember what DSP I used. Probably some from Windsor Knot and some from To the Nines, Certainly Celery, Kraft, and mostly Timber Brown Stazon, and Sahara Sand ink sponged on to distress... I used Ready to Glitter Making Memories stickers and colored the front protective backing sheet with soft suede stampin write marker for the DAD. (if you remove both the front and the back sheet, the sticker becomes adhesive on both sides). Crushed Curry stampin write marker was used to color in the beer.

Father's day cards continued...

Here are some Father's Day cards I made over the weekend. People must have liked them because they bought them all. I decided that for manly cards, i really liked the color combination of the new in colors- Soft Suede and Dusty Durango with Whisper White. At first glance I did not like either color, but when you put them together I think they look great. (Circle Circus Stamp Set, sentiment from Great Friend stamp set)

Faux Giraffe Father's Day

I made a ton of cards this weekend to sell at a tasting party I was invited to. I sold most of them including this one. The circle stamp, stamped all over the dusty durango cardstock remindes me of a giraffe.

I will post the rest some time this week.

Versatile Circles...

I am having too much fun playing with my new Circle Circus stamp set. It is so versatile! I love the black and white look that these stamps get but thought it would be fun to add some pops of color.
I started out by stamping different circles with Basic Black ink on strips of whisper white cardstock. Next for the large circles I colored them in using Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo stampin' write markers. Next I trimmed some circles that I had stamped the other night in Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo and I attached those with dimensionals to certain corresponding images on the strips. I added rhinestones in the centers for some of the colored circles. I matted the strips on Basic Black cardstock and then adhered all strips onto Bermuda Bay cardstock. Finally I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the All Holidays stamp set onto the card.
I think I have found my new favorite colors- Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo!
All items available July 1st.

Design your own ribbon...

Here is another card I made with the Circle Circus stamp set. I love the way these stamps take ink. The impression you get is very clean and bold.

I was playing around with whisper white satin ribbon and I stamped one of the smallest circles in Basic Black ink right on the ribbon. Then I colored over the entire ribbon with Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write markers. I think the ribbon comes out looking great. Having the in color markers is so convenient.

For the rest of the card, I mostly stamped the circles in Basic Black ink on Whisper White Cardstock. I used two circles I stamped and punched out with dimensionals to make the center circle the focal point with Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, and Rich Razzleberry ink and then put a rhinestone in the center for some bling. I mounted on Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry cardstock then I put the whole thing on a Crushed Curry card. Finally I added the whisper white Good Luck sentiment from the Chit Chat rub-ons onto the Melon layer. Finally I tied on my dyed ribbon.

All items will be available July 1st. (rub-ons available now)
