First was the Creativate Summer Retreat and then Stamp and Scrap Expo, then NYCPAS Expo. It has been a whirlwind for sure. I have been re-organizing my craftroom and received my August - December 2020 Mini Pre-Order items. I am so excited for all the fun seasonal cards that I will get to make over the next few months.
In the meantime, allow me to share a birthday card I made using some leftover pieces from one of my retreat projects. Never throw anything away!
This card base is made from a piece I cut incorrectly when I was attempting to make a 5 panel one sheet wonder card during the retreat. I cut away an inch too much and was left with a card base that looks a bit like a window. This gave me the idea to have some stamped blended and punched butterflies perched on the top edge of the front panel of the card.
Next I needed to figure out what to do with the scored and mitered edge of the front panel. I decided to punch two holes and thread some Purple Posy ribbon into a bow. Did you know you can use scissors to curl the edge of that gorgeous ribbon?
Next I did some ink blending for the front and inside panels of the card using Coastal Cabana, Pool Party, and Highland Heather Ink.
I heat embossed the dandelion images with white embossing powder and Versamark.
I stamped the Birthday Wishes stamp from my February Paper Pumpkin kit Lovely Day on a piece of the trimmed scrap from my ink blended background and embossed it in white.
I stamped the inner sentiment using Highland Heather Ink using the Happy Birthday To You stamp from the Best Year stamp set.
Finally I added some basic rhinestones to the dandelions for some bling.
